Our skin is made up of three layers – epidermis (outer layer), dermis (middle layer) and subcutaneous (innermost layer). When we are younger, our skin is very elastic and it can hold more moisture then our skin can now. As we grow older, the skin gets thinner and less elastic. Spend sport periods of time outside so that you can still get your vitamin D but don’t overdo it. Smoking is not just bad for your health and will probably give you lung cancer at some point of your life. But, it is also bad for your skin. When you smoke you release an enzyme that destroys collagen and elastin and can often cause wrinkles around the eyes. Get Enough Sleep
Human growth hormones that induces cell growth and reproduction are produced when we are sleeping. Sleep is also essential because this reduces stress and when you are stressed out, your body produces high amount of cortisol that breaks down your skin cells. You don’t want that as this only increases the chances of you developing wrinkles. A lack of sleep can cause bags under your eyes, and even help cause wrinkles around the eyes.
Eat Foods That Help Improve Your Skin Health
For example, salmon. It contains omega-3 fatty acid that helps nourish your skin. Include fruits and vegetables that contains antioxidants in your diet. Blueberries, walnuts, spinach, beans, artichokes or prunes are great examples. Eating gelatin is also recommended because it helps increase the production of collagen. If there is not enough collagen in our body then you will most likely be prone to wrinkles, cellulites and stretchmarks.
