Let’s face it, 2016 is already halfway over but that doesn’t mean you should just negate the rest of the year. It’s never too late to start exercising because why put off tomorrow what you can get done today, right? Check out a few of the top health trends we’ve seen so far in 2016 and a few we think will carry on for the next 6 months.
1. Top Health Trends: The Rise Of Tech
You see it everywhere you look and it was probably one of the top fitness trends of the last few years. Well, the trend carries on with the rise of fitness technology and gadgets. From fitness devices to wearable trackers to apps to handheld body fat measuring tools, the rise of tech is continuing in a big way and for good reason.
We all want to know what’s going on with our bodies, right? I mean if you are even remotely interested in fitness, you want to know how many steps you’ve taken in a day or even how many calories you’ve burned, what your heart rate is, and you can find this out with so many devices out there. Or you can even get a handheld fat measuring tool that can measure single muscle groups or can calculate your entire body fat percentage and tracks it through time (like the Skulpt). Plus, there are gadgets that will monitor your sleep and even give you suggestions for how to sleep better (like the beddit). There is just so much cool tech out there that will make your life easier and your body healthier (along with your effort).
2. Home Is Where The Workout Is
The next of the top health trends is home workouts. Over the past few years we have seen a steady increase in the interest for outdoor and at home fitness. In 2016, this has exploded with the requests for home workouts and outdoor exercises going through the roof. Who wants to drive 15 minutes to the gym to wait in line and then sweat for 45 minutes? That’s where home fitness is filling the gap for many busy people including businessmen, travelers, and stay at home parents just to mention a few. The need for simple workouts that can be done with minimal equipment will only continue to skyrocket. It’s free and saves you a ton of time (like Body and Mind Synergy)!
3. Active Fitness
Next on our list of top health trends is active fitness. Active fitness that doesn’t really feel/seem like fitness is huge in 2016. From Zumba to POUND Fitness. Having fun while getting fit has never been more in style. It’s a great way to dance the calories away or lose weight to the beat of your own drum (pun intended). The best part is that it’s a social exercise that keeps you motivated and showing up in the first place. Nothing like a group of friends having fun, burning calories, and just enjoying each other’s company!
4. Easy vitamins
Who wants to swallow down massive, chalky pills? In 2016 liquid and chewable supplements are really taking off. From gummies to a shot of vitamins. It’s easier to ingest and possible to ingest for those with problems swallowing pills. Many times these gummies come in a variety of shapes, sizes, colors, nutrients, and flavors. Many you can actually have delivered to your door step and are entirely customizable as well. This makes them incredibly easy to take and more importantly, highly effective! (like vitafive).
5. Quick and effective
Our final of our top health trends is quick and effective! This might be a trend for every single year due to the fact that it plays into human nature. Simple, quick workouts are all the rage in 2016. People want effective workouts that don’t take 50 minutes to complete. And they want workouts they can do literally anywhere (this ties in with home workouts). Look on Pinterest or on our Twitter feed and you will see that effective, 20 minute workouts are the most pinned, retweeted, or just engaged content on the feeds! What’s not to like about a workout that only takes 15 minutes but still helps you get to where you want to be? Heck. 15 minutes is better than skipping exercise altogether, right?
From gadgets to home workouts to easy to consume vitamins, the top health trends of 2016 is all about people taking control of their health on their own terms. Fitness can happen anywhere. It doesn’t have to be in a brick-and-mortar facility and people are realizing that! Either way, make this your year to reach your goals and stop putting off for tomorrow what you can totally get started on today! Good luck!
